ARTICLE: CHOOSE A RITUAL THAT HONORS YOUR SUN SIGN

A ritual can be whatever you choose! Below are some suggestions to give you food for thought.

 

Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

1. Offering. Pour water into a vessel and offer it humbly to Spirit, your ancestors and/or spirit guides. This honors the law of giving and receiving. When we give an offering we put in motion the natural law of inflow and outflow.

2. Purification. Pour water into a vessel that can be closed. Hold it in your hands or place it on your lap. Direct into the water all the things you wish to no longer have in your life. Let the water absorb it. Do this on a waning moon for additional support for releasing. After, pour the water into the soil of the Earth.

Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

1. Offering. Till your garden or get a plant and take care of it. Mother Nature shares gratitude with all those who care for her creations. Present your care for plant life as service to the Divine. Communicate with the plant and ask it to bring blessings into your life.

2. Purification. Use mud cleansing or salt cleansing. If you are using mud, slather the mud all over your body, release into the mud anything not in harmony with the most loving aspects of yourself and your life, then rinse the mud off. If you are using salt. First, gently exfoliate your skin with the salt scrub then put salt in a bath of warm water, relax in the bath and intentionally release what is not in harmony with you. Salt detoxifies.  Use both for added effect.

Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)

1. Offering. Open all the windows and even the doors if you want to let fresh air in. Breathe in the air and begin a chant that honors you. You can use the seed sounds of the chakras or a word or a song that feels right for the moment. When we breathe we open ourselves up and when we make sound with our vocal power we join in with the chorus of life. Let your unique sound be offered to the Universe as an exchange of energies.

2. Purification. Go for a walk in nature. Breathe in the smells all around you. Breath INTO the essences of things. For example, if you come across flowers, breathe yourself into the consciousness of the flowers. As you walk and breathe, think about every step you take releasing the past behind you and it remaining in the past as you walk forward into the present.

Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

1. Offering. I am a Leo and find myself lighting matches randomly and offering the ignition/spark, to the divine as an acknowledgment and appreciation that I am a spark of the Divine. You can also sunbath with intention. Meaning, go outside when it is sunny and sit or lay down in the sun’s warming rays of light. Offer into the sun your wishes and let it amplify them…cook them in a way into your life.

2. Purification. Smoke cleansing! Burn incense, a candle, cedar, palo santo wood, sage, sweetgrass, etc, with the intention of burning away what no longer serves you.  You can also look into having Usui Holy Fire Reiki done to help you cleanse yourself.
